Adult Education Hour

St. Peter’s Adult Education Hour is offered weekly on Sunday mornings, 9-10 am, and then repeated on Thursday evenings, 6-7 pm.  Typically, these adult ed programs will come in three to four week chunks centered on a particular topic of exploration. They are loosely structured opportunities for discussion and reflection and do not require any advance preparation or “homework,” though we will read some interesting bits from various thinkers and poets–as well as scripture–to help spark our conversation. From September, 2010 through Christmas, 2010, the topics will be:

It’s really hard to choose only one. I think I’ve got four or five. There’s one called “New and Selected Poems” that combines a bunch of her collections–so that’s got a lot of poetry in one book. There’s also “The Leaf And The Cloud” which is unusual because it is one long poem, rather than her usual collection of short poems. I also like “Why I Wake Early.”
