Speaking of “Fight Club” and modern American feelings of nihilism, alienation, and the hyper-mediated experience of life (see below), David Fincher, the director of “Fight Club,” has a new movie coming out soon about the story of the rise of the founder of Facebook called “The Social Network.” It promises to be another dark meditation on how hard it can be these days to find an authentic sense of the love and joy and peace that comes from being part of a true community–which is to say: how hard it can be these days to find and know God the Holy Spirit.
